is a project of the Breast Cancer Fund to connect people like you so that breast cancer CAN BE PREVENTED.

Today, a woman's lifetime risk for breast cancer is more than one in eight. And breast cancer rates have continued to rise over the past 40 years. But it doesn't have to be this way.

Only 1 out of 10 women who have breast cancer have a genetic history of the disease. Scientists increasingly believe as many as half of all breast cancer cases have environmental links.

That's why all of us at the Breast Cancer Fund are committed to eliminating the causes of the disease - because we CAN prevent it.

Through public education, prevention and public policy initiatives, outdoor challenges including major mountain climbs, film festivals and other innovative campaigns such as "Not MY Breasts", the Breast Cancer Fund mobilizes the public and secures the institutional changes and legislative reforms necessary to eliminate the environmental links to breast cancer.
